Kerala Honeymoon Itinerary: 5 Nights, 6 Days
By the Tripzoy team · 5 min read
Why Kerala for a honeymoon
Kerala mixes hill stations, backwaters and beaches in one short trip, with calm stays and good food. It works well for first-time couples because distances are manageable and a private cab handles most of it.
Day 1: Arrive in Cochin, drive to Munnar
Land in Cochin and drive about 4 to 5 hours up to Munnar through waterfalls and spice country. Check in and enjoy a quiet evening.
Day 2: Munnar
Visit tea gardens, a tea museum, viewpoints and, in season, Eravikulam National Park. Keep the evening free.
Day 3: Munnar to Thekkady
Drive to Thekkady for a spice plantation walk and an optional boat ride at Periyar Lake.
Day 4: Thekkady to Alleppey
Drive to Alleppey and board a houseboat for the afternoon and overnight stay, with meals prepared on board.
Day 5: Backwaters to Kovalam or Cochin
Check out after breakfast and continue to a beach stay at Kovalam, or stay near Cochin for Fort Kochi sightseeing.
Day 6: Departure
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
Best time
September to March is the most comfortable. Monsoon months are good for Ayurveda and lush scenery, with lower prices.
