Goa Trip from Delhi: Flights, Trains and Budget

Short answer

Fly. Delhi to Goa is about 2.5 hours by air, with many daily flights to both Goa airports (Dabolim in the south-centre and Mopa in the north). Trains take more than a day, so they only make sense for longer holidays. For 4 nights, plan roughly ₹20,000 to ₹40,000 per person including flights, depending on the season and hotel.

Which airport?

Mopa (Manohar International) is closer to North Goa beaches such as Morjim, Arambol and Anjuna; Dabolim is better for Panjim, Candolim and South Goa. Choose based on where you stay; the drive between them takes well over an hour.

Flight costs

Return fares are often about ₹8,000 to ₹15,000 per person when booked a few weeks ahead, and much higher for the Christmas–New Year week and long weekends.

By train

Trains such as the Rajdhani from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Madgaon take roughly 26 to 30 hours. It is scenic along the Konkan coast, but needs two extra days.

When to go

November to February has the best weather, but prices peak in late December. October, early November and March are good-value months.
