Phuket and Krabi Itinerary: 6 Days in Southern Thailand

The plan at a glance

Phuket (3 nights) → Krabi (2 nights). Two island-hopping days, one easy day in each place and a short ferry or road transfer between them. It suits couples, friends and families with older children.

Day 1: Arrive in Phuket

Fly into Phuket (usually via Bangkok, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, or direct from some Indian cities). Check in near Patong for nightlife or Kata and Karon for quieter beaches. Evening walk on the beach.

Day 2: Phi Phi Islands

A full-day speedboat tour to Phi Phi: Maya Bay (from the boardwalk, with swimming restricted), Pileh Lagoon, snorkelling stops and lunch on Phi Phi Don. Carry sunscreen and a dry bag.

Day 3: Phang Nga Bay

James Bond Island, sea-canoeing through limestone caves and the floating village at Koh Panyee. A long-tail or big-boat tour fills most of the day.

Day 4: Phuket to Krabi

Ferry or private transfer to Krabi (about 2 to 3 hours). Check in at Ao Nang and spend the evening on the beach promenade.

Day 5: Krabi 4-island tour

Long-tail boat to Phra Nang Cave beach, Chicken Island, Tup Island (with its sandbar at low tide) and Poda Island. Visit Railay Beach in the late afternoon if you have energy left.

Day 6: Departure

Fly out of Krabi or transfer back to Phuket for your flight.

Visa, season and money tips

Indian passport holders currently get visa-free entry to Thailand for short stays; check the latest rules and complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card online before you fly. November to April is the dry season with the calmest seas; from May to October some boat trips may be cancelled for weather. Carry some baht for boat-tour park fees and street food.
