Singapore with Kids: A 5-Day Family Itinerary

The plan at a glance

Four nights in one hotel near an MRT station, with one big attraction per day and rest in between. Singapore is compact, so there is no need to change hotels.

Day 1: Arrive and Marina Bay

Land at Changi and visit the Jewel waterfall before leaving the airport. In the evening, walk around Marina Bay and watch the free light show at Gardens by the Bay.

Day 2: Universal Studios Singapore

Spend the full day at Universal Studios on Sentosa. Weekdays have shorter queues; an express pass helps on busy days. The S.E.A. Aquarium is next door if you have the energy, or keep it for day 4.

Day 3: Mandai: zoo, Bird Paradise and Night Safari

Spend the day at the Singapore Zoo or Bird Paradise, rest in the late afternoon, then return for the Night Safari tram. With young children, book the earliest Night Safari slot.

Day 4: Sentosa beaches and the aquarium

S.E.A. Aquarium in the morning, then the beach at Siloso or Palawan, the cable car and the evening show on Sentosa.

Day 5: Gardens and departure

Visit the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay, have lunch in Little India, then head to the airport.

Practical tips

Indian passport holders apply for the Singapore visa through an authorised agent before travel; it usually takes a few working days. Use a contactless card or EZ-Link card on the MRT. Short tropical showers are common, so carry a small umbrella. Indian vegetarian food is easy to find in Little India and food courts.
