Ladakh is India's great adventure trip: high mountain passes such as Khardung La and Chang La, sand dunes and Bactrian camels in Nubra, the blue waters of Pangong and Tso Moriri, river rafting on the Indus and Zanskar, and the famous road trips and bike rides from Manali or Srinagar. It is remote and high, so a good plan is about the order of places as much as the sights.

Tripzoy Ladakh plans start with rest days in Leh to acclimatise, include the inner line permits for Nubra and Pangong, and use a tempo traveller, an SUV or rented bikes with a backup vehicle. Tell us your dates, group size and whether you want to ride, and a travel expert sends a plan with an approximate price on WhatsApp.

Planning tips

  • ✓ Rest for 36 to 48 hours in Leh before going higher; altitude sickness is the most common problem.
  • ✓ Prepaid SIM cards from other states don't work in Ladakh; carry a postpaid connection and some cash.
  • ✓ The Manali–Leh highway is usually open from about June to October.
  • ✓ Carry warm layers and sun protection; it is cold at night even in summer.

What to include in your Ladakh adventure trip

Khardung La to Nubra

One of the highest motorable passes, then the Hunder dunes and Diskit monastery in Nubra valley.

Pangong Lake

A night in a lakeside camp to see the colours change from morning to evening.

Bike trips

Leh-based loops on rented bikes, or the full Manali–Leh or Srinagar–Leh highway with a backup vehicle.

Rafting and treks

Indus and Zanskar rafting in summer, and short treks such as Sham Valley for a gentle start.
